October 2, 1974 - Ted Bundy
That autumn, Bundy began attending the University of Utah law school in Salt Lake City, where he resumed killing in October. Nancy Wilcox disappeared from Holladay, Utah on October 2, 1974. Wilcox was last seen riding in a Volkswagen Beetle. On October 18, 1974, Bundy murdered Melissa Smith, the 17-year-old daughter of Midvale police chief Louis Smith; Bundy raped, sodomized, and strangled her. Her body was found nine days later. Next was Laura Aime, also 17, who disappeared when she left a Halloween party in Lehi, Utah on October 31, 1974; her naked, beaten and strangled corpse was found nearly a month later by hikers on Thanksgiving Day, on the banks of a river in American Fork Canyon.
October 2, 2002 - Nathaniel Bar-Jonah
Confessed annibal killer Nathaniel Bar-Jonah, accused of butchering a 10-year-old boy and feeding him to neighbors, won't face murder and kidnapping charges because the alleged victim's mother believes her son is still alive. Zachary Ramsay's mother, Rachel Howard, said she was prepared to testify she did not believe Nathaniel Bar-Jonah had killed her son in 1996, prompting prosecutors to drop their case. "I did not want Bar-Jonah to be convicted of a crime that I did not believe he did," Howard said. Hher belief is based on several things, including a videotape she says shows her son at age 12. She said police did not believe the boy in the video was her son. Bar-Jonah, 45, already serving a 130-year prison sentence in Montana for kidnapping and sexual assault in a separate case, was accused of abducting Zachary while he walked to school. The boy's body was never found, and authorities have said evidence suggests Bar-Jonah killed the boy and disposed of his body in meals served to unsuspecting neighbors. Searches of Bar-Jonah's house nearly three years ago turned up lists of children's names, including Zachary, and encrypted letters in which Bar-Jonah wrote about such dishes as "little boy stew," "little boy pot pies" and "lunch is served on the patio with roasted child." Bar-Jonah was convicted earlier this year of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Great Falls boy, and hanging the boy's 8-year-old cousin from a kitchen ceiling. Those assaults occurred in 1998 and 1999. Bar-Jonah has appealed the verdict. Bar-Jonah spent 11 years in a Massachusetts mental hospital after one attack in which authorities said he tried to kill two boys. Before that, he had forced an 8-year-old boy into his car and choked him with his belt. Shortly after his release, he assaulted another boy. Under a 1991 plea agreement with Massachusetts prosecutors, Bar-Jonah was allowed to move to Montana with his mother. Montana authorities were outraged to learn of the deal after Bar-Jonah's arrest.
October 3, 2002 - The DC Snipers
Five people were shot to death separately within a few miles of each other around the suburbs of Washington D.C. Authorities announced the killings, that occured over a 16-hour span, were probably related. Investigators had not found any indication that the five victims, killed between 6 p.m. on a Wednesday and 10 a.m. the next day, were related in any way or had any conflict with anyone, Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose said. The first slaying happened shortly after 6 p.m. when a 55-year-old man shot in the parking lot of a Wheaton grocery store, police spokeswoman Nancy Demme said. Another victim was shot while riding a lawnmower at about 7:45 a.m. The next victim, a cab driver, was shot around 8:15 a.m. while pumping gas at a Mobil station. About a half-hour later, a woman was shot and killed and died on a bench outside a post office. The last victim -- another female -- was shot about 10 a.m. when she was vacuuming out her van at a Shell gas station in Kensington. About a half hour before the first shooting , the windows of a store at a shopping center were shot at, but no one was injured.
October 4, 2002 - The DC Snipers
A former FBI profiler said the sniper killer in suburban Maryland was probably a calculating white man in his 20s or early 30s who lives nearby and has a score to settle. "This isn't somebody who just snapped," said Clinton Van Zandt, a former FBI agent. "This is someone who likes what they're doing. This is someone who is playing God. They're sticking their finger in the face of the authorities and society." The gunman "is somebody who is cold, who is calculating, who has the skills and doesn't care who they hurt," Van Zandt said.
October 4, 2002 - The DC Snipers
Law enforcement officers searched the Washington suburbs for a sniper who they believe randomly targeted five people in six separate attacks. Each of the victims was killed by a single bullet. Tests on the bullets and wounds indicated all five victims were hit from a distance, likely with .223-caliber bullets from an assault or hunting rifle. None of the victims appeared to have been robbed, and police said race did not appear to be a motive. The victims were Hispanic and white; one was a native of India. "There's still no information to lead us to think our victims are associated," said Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose. "They don't appear to be anyone's enemies, just random targets." Police searched for white trucks and vans in the area after reports that a white box truck was seen speeding away from one of the scenes. The killings began in the evening of October 2. Around 6 p.m., James D. Martin, 55, of Silver Spring, a program analyst for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, was shot in the parking lot of a Wheaton grocery store. Around 7:45 a.m. the next day, James L. "Sonny" Buchanan, 39, Arlington, Va., was killed while cutting grass at a car dealership in the White Flint area. Prenkumar Walekar, 54, was next. He was shot about 8:15 a.m., while pumping gas into his cab at a Mobil station in the Aspen Hill area. About a half-hour later, Sarah Ramos, 34, of Silver Spring, died at a post office next to the Leisure World retirement community in Silver Spring. Dolores Lori Ann Lewis-Rivera, 25, of Silver Spring, was shot and killed about 10 a.m. at a Shell gas station in Kensington while she was vacuuming her van. The killings brought the number of homicides in Montgomery County to 25, the most since 1997. The last time as many people were killed in one day in the county was in July 1995, when a handyman's assistant killed podiatrist David Marc Goff, his three daughters and a contractor at Goff's home in Potomac. Bruman S. Alvarez pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
October 4, 2002 - Robert Lee Yates Jr
A Pierce County court sentenced Robert Lee Yates Jr. was sentenced to death for the murders of Melinda Mercer, 24, in 1997 and Connie LaFontaine Ellis, 35, in 1998. The two cases went to court after Pierce County prosecutors refused to sign off on the Spokane plea deal and charged Yates with aggravated first-degree murder, the state's only capital crime. "He richly deserved the death penalty," said Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Jerry Costello. Yates showed no emotion whens the verdict was read. "The world is a frightening place, and I've made it more so for many," Yates -- who has found Christ in prison -- told jurors in court during the penalty phase. "Hundreds of people are hurting and grieving because of my actions."
William Warren Juror #7 wrote to the Archives: I am sure you will be relieved to know that Robert Lee Yates, Jr. has been convicted on two counts of aggravated first-degree murder by a jury in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington, and that the selfsame jury found insufficient cause to grant leniency for the murders of Connie LaFontaine Ellis and Melinda Mercer. Consequently, on Thursday, October 3, 2002, we twelve summarized more than eight weeks' testimony and witnessing into a singular sentence: death.
His attorneys have hinted at a number of options to delay his execution, including a plea that he be required to serve the 408 years he plea-bargained with the Spokane-area officials for (in exchange for admitting to the Spokane murders, the attempted murder of Christene Smith, PLUS killing a picnicking couple in 1975 and another woman in 1988, and providing a map detailing where one of the victims -- Melody Murfin -- could be found, buried under his bedroom window at his Spokane residence) BEFORE he can be executed. You read that correctly: they intend to argue that he must serve the 408 years without possibility of release or parole he was sentenced to in Spokane before he can be executed.
He will be officially sentenced on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 by Judge John McCarthy in Tacoma.
Please don't get me wrong on this: his attorneys, Roger Hunko and Mary Kay High, are consummate professionals and they did the very best they could to get him life in prison rather than the death penalty. I feel very sorry for them, they had a thoroughly rotten case to defend and I'm sure they would rather have been somewhere else, but the case the prosecution presented was thorough and incontrovertible. By strict definition of the laws of the State of Washington, considering all of the evidence presented in the trial, and the instructions we received from the court, the only choice we could make was to invoke the death penalty. The fact that we came to that unanimous decision within three hours' deliberation should not be viewed as a "rush to judgment"; we asked for and received the night off to search our souls and be certain we were crystal clear that this was the only choice, and still the answer came back unanimous. I cannot commend my fellow jurists highly enough: there was no infighting or bickering, no power plays or bullying, but a cohesive and intelligent and sensitive group of people doing a tough job and taking care of each other in the process. We became a family in our time together, a bond we hope to maintain now that our job is done.
In his allocution, Yates stated that "...every life has meaning," a theme echoed by Mr. Hunko in closing statements, as well as by one of the prosecuting attornies, Mr. Costello. We twelve agreed wholeheartedly, and it is our sincere hope that the families of his uncounted victims will find some solace and closure in the fact that Mr. Yates will atone, one way or another, for taking so many of them for his own perverted pleasure.
Sadly, in revelations beyond the scope of the trial we heard, it appears that there are several other murders which might be attributable to this man which may never see the light of a courtroom, including that of a 15-year-old girl. Regardless of that, and irrespective of the appeals processes which may result in commutation of his sentence to the aforementioned 408 years without the possibility of release or parole, I feel that Pierce County stepped up to the plate and fought the good fight. We made the right decision -- the only decision we could possibly make -- and if he actually has (as he claims) rediscovered God and his faith, I hope he finds some comfort with that in the time remaining to him.
May God have mercy on all of us. And preserve us from monsters.
October 5, 2002 - The DC Snipers
The bullet used to shoot a Virginia woman matches ammunition used to kill at least four of six victims of a sniper spree in Washington, D.C., and suburban Maryland. Tests conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms confirmed that the same weapon was used in five of the random shootings over the past three days in Montgomery County, Md., and Washington. Tests were still under way to determine any links to two additional shootings in Maryland. "The round that we collected there is in fact a match to the rounds that were used here in Maryland and also in D.C.," said Maj. Howard Smith, of the Spotsylvania County, Va., sheriff's office. The 43-year-old Spotsylvania woman was shot in the back in a parking lot at a craft store in Fredericksburg, Va., about 55 miles south of Rockville, at about 2:30 p.m. Authorities said that .223-caliber bullets used to kill four of the victims came from the same weapon, perhaps a hunting or assault rifle. But the bullets used in the two other killings "are in very poor shape," Moose said. "We may not be able to link them." The Virginia victim was hospitalized in serious condition. The five victims in the Washington suburbs were gunned down in broad daylight in public places during a 16-hour span: two at gas stations, one outside a grocery, another outside a post office and the fifth as he mowed the grass at an auto dealership. A 72-year-old pedestrian in Washington was shot to death as he stood on a street corner.
October 7, 2002 - The DC Snipers
The Washington-area sniper struck again, shooting and critically wounding a 13-year-old boy as his aunt dropped him off at school. Ballistics tests linked the boy's shooting to the slayings of six people in Maryland and Washington last week, said Joe Riehl, an agent with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The child was shot once in the chest before the start of classes at Benjamin Tasker Middle School and was in critical but stable condition at Children's Hospital in Washington. "All of our victims have been innocent and defenseless, but now we're stepping over the line," Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose said, tears streaming down his face. "Shooting a kid -- it's getting to be really, really personal now." The five slain victims were gunned down in broad daylight in public places: two at gas stations, one outside a grocery, another outside a post office and the fifth as he mowed the grass at an auto dealership. The sixth victim, a 72-year-old man, was shot to death as he stood on a Washington street corner. Each victim was shot once from a distance. There were no known witnesses. Ballistics evidence also linked the Maryland slayings with the shooting of a 43-year-old woman in Spotsylvania County, Va. She was shot in the back in a parking lot at a Michaels craft store in Fredericksburg, Va.
October 8, 1949 - Robert Berdella
Robert Berdella (January 31, 1949 – October 8, 1992) was an American serial killer in Kansas City, Missouri who raped, tortured and killed at least seven men between 1984 and 1987.
October 8, 1974 - Ted Bundy
In Murray, Utah, on November 8, 1974, Carol DaRonch narrowly escaped with her life. Claiming to be Officer Roseland of the Murray Police Department, Bundy approached her at the Fashion Place Mall, told her someone had tried to break into her car, and asked her to accompany him to the police station. She got into his car but refused his instruction to buckle her seat belt. They drove for a short period before Bundy suddenly pulled to the shoulder and attempted to slap a pair of handcuffs on her. In the struggle, he fastened both loops to the same wrist. Next Bundy whipped out his crowbar, but DaRonch caught it in the air just before it would have cracked her skull. She then got the door open and tumbled out onto the highway, thus escaping from her would-be killer. About an hour later, a strange man showed up at Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah, where the drama club was putting on a play. He approached the drama teacher and then a student, asking both to come out to the parking lot to identify a car. Both declined. The drama teacher saw him again shortly before the end of the play, this time breathing hard, with his hair mussed and his shirt untucked. Another student saw the man lurking in the rear of the auditorium. Debby Kent, a 17-year-old Viewmont High student, left the play at intermission to go and pick up her brother, and was never seen again. Later, investigators found a small key in the parking lot outside Viewmont High. It unlocked the handcuffs taken off of Carol DaRonch.
October 9, 2002 - Aileen Wuornos
Serial killer Aileen Wuornos was executed by lethal injection at 9:47 a.m. in Florida State Prison near Starke. Wuornos, 46, became the 10th woman executed in the United States since the death penalty resumed in 1976, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. "I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the Rock and I'll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mothership and all. I'll be back," Wuornos, who found Christ in jail, said from the execution chamber.
October 10, 1998 - Robert Yates
Authorities investigating the Spokane serial killings have visited a man in North Dakota suspected in three local deaths and two disappearances in the 1970s and 1980s. The man was ruled out as a suspect in the Spokane case following his interview with detectives. Lewiston Police Lt. Alan Johnson would not comment on what transpired during the meeting. Task force investigators interviewed the man after receiving a tip that he might somehow be involved in the serial killings, said Capt. Doug Silver of the Spokane County Sheriff's Department. "We do those kinds of interviews almost every day," Silver said. "This isn't unusual." However, the unidentified man remains the prime suspect in the Lewiston killings.
October 11, 1949 - Richard Angelo
Angelo worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital on Long Island. By the time he was caught, he had killed 25 patients. Unable to achieve the level of praise he desired in life, Angelo came up with a plan where he would inject drugs into patients at the hospital, bringing them to a near-death state. He would then show his heroic capabilities by helping to save his victims, impressing both co-workers and the patients with his expertise. For many, Angelo's plan fell deathly short, and several patients died before he was able to intervene and save them from his deadly injections. "I wanted to create a situation where I would cause the patient to have some respiratory distress or some problem, and through my intervention or suggested intervention or whatever, come out looking like I knew what I was doing," Angelo later said of the murders. "I had no confidence in myself. I felt very inadequate." During Angelo's short employment at Good Samaritan there were 37 "code blue" emergancies during his shift. Only 12 of the 37 patients lived. Angelo, apparently not swayed by his inability to keep his victims alive, continued injecting patients with a combination of the paralyzing drugs, Pavulon and Anectine. Soon after administering the deadly cocktail, the patients would begin to feel numb and their breathing would become constricted as did their ability to communicate to nurses and doctors. Few could survive the deadly attack. On October 11, 1987, Angelo purportedly told patient Gerolamo Kucich [3], "I'm going to make you feel better," and injected pavulon into his IV. Immediately the man felt numbness and had difficulty breathing. However, he was able to buzz in another nurse who saved his life. One of the nurses responding to his call for help took a urine sample and had it analyzed. The test proved positive for containing the drugs, Pavulon and Anectine, neither of which had been prescribed to Kucich. The following day Angelo's locker and home were searched and police found vials of both drugs and Angelo was arrested. The bodies of several of the suspected victims were exhumed and tested for the deadly drugs. The test proved positive for the drugs on ten of the dead patients. Prosecutors called to the stand two mental health experts, who agreed that Angelo suffered from a personality disorder but not one that precluded him from appreciating whether his actions were right or wrong. The two psychologists testified that Angelo suffered from dissociative identity disorder, and after he'd injected his victims, he moved into a separate personality that made him unaware of what he had just done. Angelo had earlier passed a polygraph test when asked about the murders; however, the test was ruled inadmissible in court. The jury convicted Angelo of two counts of second-degree murder, one count of second-degree manslaughter, one count of criminally negligent homicide, and six counts of assault. He was sentenced to 61 years to life. He is currently incarcerated in Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York.
October 12, 1978 - David (Son Of Sam) Berkowitz
In October of 1978 Berkowitz mailed a book about witchcraft and other occult subjects to police in North Dakota. He had underlined several passages, offering some marginal notes, including the phrase: "Arliss Perry, Hunted, Stalked and Slain. Followed to Calif. Stanford University."Arlis Perry, a newlywed 19-year-old North Dakota native, had been killed in a chapel on the grounds of Stanford University on October 12, 1974. Her murder remains unsolved. Berkowitz also mentioned the Perry murder in a few letters, suggesting that he heard details of the crime from "Manson II", the culprit. In the San Jose Mercury News, Jessie Seyfer noted that "investigators interviewed him in prison and now believe he has nothing of value to offer" regarding the Perry case.
October 12, 2004 - DONALD ALDRICH
"If you can walk into a 7-11 and rob a 7-11 for 15, 20 bucks, get your face on videotape, have somebody that's gonna call the police; or if you can go to a park, rob somebody that's out in the dark, come away with a hell of a lot more--because of the fact that they're a homosexual and they don't want people to know it, they're not gonna go report it to the police. Who you gonna go rob? Where you're gonna get in the least amount of trouble." Donald Aldrich sought out gay men to rob and harass. He knew that many gay men in Texas lived double lives in order to hide their homosexuality from an adverse environment and took advantage of their fears of being exposed. For Aldrich, homosexuals were both a source of easy money and a way to release his hostilities; he claims to have been sexually molested by a homosexual cousin at the age of nine: "Some of the fear that I had instilled in on me -- if I can throw that back on somebody, they're gonna think twice about goin' back out there again. 'Cause the next person they meet might be shovin' a shotgun down their throat. The next person they meet might actually pull the trigger." Aldrich, along with two accomplices, abducted Nicholas West from Bergfeld Park in Tyler, Texas where gay men hung out. They took him to a gravel pit outside of town and subjected him to verbal harassment, a fist fight, and finally, nine fatal gun shots. "If I beat the death penalty part of it, they can still hang me with capital murder, stick me in prison for the rest of my life--I'd rather them take me over there and shoot me in the head first. My life's been fucked up since I was a small kid. I've wanted to die several times since I was a small kid. I'm not scared of death. If there's nothing after you die, I'm not going to know it because I'm dead. If there is an afterlife, it's got to be a hell of a lot better than this place." Aldrich was executed on October 12, 2004 by lethal injection at Huntsville Unit, Huntsville, Texas.
October 13, 1999 - Robert Yates
A year after the killer's last known victim was discovered, the Spokane serial killer task force investigating renewed its call for tips from the public. Nearly 5,000 tips about the killer have flowed in to the task force in the past two years. Thirty percent of the leads have been followed up by more than a dozen city, county and state detectives.
October 14, 2002 - JOHN EDWARD ROBINSON
Jurors in the trial of 58-year-old John E. Robinson watched a video of a sadomasochistic sex session between an alleged victim and the self-proclaimed Internet Slavemaster. The 40-minute video showed Robinson in a hotel room with Suzette Trouten, who performs sex acts and professes her allegiance to Robinson. Early in the video, Trouten sits on the edge of the bed, looks into the camera and says to Robinson: "This is what you wanted me to tell you: I'm your slave. ... Everything is yours." Several jurors covered their eyes at least briefly as the tape played. "The most important thing in life you are is my slave," Robinson later tells Trouten.
October 15, 2002 - The DC Snipers
An FBI agent is the latest victim of the Washington-area sniper. Linda Franklin, 47, of Arlington was shot in the head as she and her husband loaded packages into their car outside a Home Depot at the Seven Corners Shopping Center. FBI spokesman Barry Maddox said Franklin worked at FBI headquarters. A senior law enforcement source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said there were no indications that she was targeted because of her job. Maddox added that she was not a part of the task force investigating the sniper shootings. For the first time, witnesses were able to give information about license plates on vehicles seen leaving the scene, he said. "There was some additional information that we were able to get from last night's case and I am confident that that information is going to lead us to an arrest in the case," Manger said at a morning briefing. Manger declined to discuss which state the license plates were from or answer questions about whether police had a description of the shooter. He said only that several people contacted police after the shooting and investigators were still interviewing them. "We have been receiving quite a bit of information from witnesses," Manger said. "Information is always the key in solving cases like this." Police closed highways around Falls Church, about 10 miles west of the nation's capital, after the shooting and Manger said police were on the lookout for a light-colored Chevrolet Astro van with a burned-out left rear tail light and a chrome ladder on its roof. The highways were reopened in time for morning rush hour and no arrests were reported. While giving few details of the manhunt, investigators have logged some consistencies: the killer favors suburban gas stations; takes down each victim with a single bullet; doesn't kill on weekends; and, judging from a fortunetelling tarot card left at one of the shootings, appears to enjoy taunting police. The card read: "Dear Policeman, I am God." Vancouver profiler hunts sniper Says killer likely from northern Washington D.C. area. Rossmo said the Washington killings present a unique situation. Mr. Rossmo was the first police officer in Canada to receive a doctorate in criminology after he developed his geographic profiling system at Simon Fraser. "This is not a sexual murderer or someone shooting up a post office or a school. There doesn't seem to be any similarity in the victimology, but geographically we think the crimes are not random. We think there's a pattern there." In 1995, he helped set up the world's first geographic profiling unit within the Vancouver Police Department, and in 1998 was the first member of the department to suggest a serial killer might be involved in the disappearance of sex-trade workers from the downtown eastside. The department ignored his advice, and in 2000, announced that it did not intend to renew his contract. That prompted him to sue for wrongful dismissal. Police have begun to use a geographic profile submitted by investigators that uses crime locations to determine where the killer feels comfortable traveling and may live. Geographic profiling is a fairly new investigative tool, used first in 1990 in Canada, said Kim Rossmo, who compiled the latest profile and is director of research for the Police Foundation, a nonprofit research organization. In 2000, Rossmo was one of the first investigators to declare that a serial killer was at work in Vancouver. At the time other Vancouver police officials dismissed his claim. Presently, Willie Pickton is on trial for the murder of at least 15 women in Vancouver's Eastside. The purpose of the tool is to determine "if there is a pattern there," Rossmo said. "If we can understand the pattern, we can decode it."
October 16, 2002 - Mauro Antonello
A man in the northern Italian town of Chieri shot and killed his ex-wife and six others relatives and neighbors before turning the gun on himself. The gunman, Mauro Antonello, a 40-year-old construction worker, former security guard and gun collector, reportedly had a bitter breakup two years ago with his wife, 40-year-old Carla Bergamin.
October 16, 2002 - The DC Snipers
The Washington-area sniper's latest slaying has yielded the most detailed clues yet in the search for the elusive killer: information about license plates and the description of a man in a white van seen fleeing the attack. In another development, the Pentagon has agreed to provide aerial surveillance in the hunt for a sniper who has terrorized the Washington, D.C., suburbs for the past two weeks, killing nine and wounding two. Law enforcement sources told The Associated Press there was no indication the sniper targeted Franklin, 47, because of her job with the FBI's Cyber-Crimes Division, created last year to focus on computer crimes as well as intellectual property cases. Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge said investigators are hesitant to rule out the possibility that the slayings are the work of a terrorist because there is no hard evidence about motive.
October 17, 2002 - Ira Einhorn
A Philadelphia jury found former hippie guru Ira Einhorn, 62, guilty of the 1979 murder of his girlfriend, Holly Maddux. William Cannon, Einhorn's attorney, said during his closing argument that the discovery of the mummified corpse in the apartment the couple once shared 18 months after she disappeared was, "just a piece of circumstantial evidence.. It doesn't mean at all that Ira Einhorn is responsible for her murder." Prosecutor Joel Rosen said the evidence of Einhorn's guilt is overwhelming.
October 18, 1974 - Ted Bundy
October 18, 2000 - Robert Yates
In a deal that would spare him the death penalty Spokane serial killer Robert L. Yates pleaded guilty to thirteen murders -- including three that were previously unrelated to him -- and directed investigators to a body buried in his own side yard, outside the bedroom window. According to the agreement, prosecutors would not consider the death penalty only if the body found in the yard was that of Melody Murfin, 43, a suspected victim missing for two years. However, even if the Spokane agreement is honored, Pierce County Prosecutor John Ladenburg said he intends to pursue aggravated first-degree murder charges in the two Tacoma killings which are not included in the Spokane charges. Yates pleaded guilty to the seven Spokane slayings he was charged with; three Spokane slayings he was suspected of; the 1975 slaying of a young couple in Walla Walla County; the 1988 murder of a woman in Skagit County, and the attempted murder of Spokane resident Christine Smith, the only known woman to survive his serial mania. Next week the now remorseful serial killer is expected to be sentenced to 447 years for all the charges. The young couple -- Patrick Oliver, 21, and Susan Savage, 22 -- crossed paths with the Yates, who was 23-years-old at the time, while they were picnicking on Mill Creek, just east of Walla Walla. Back then the soon-to-be serial killer worked as a guard at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla and is believed to have been hunting when he decided to kill the college graduates. The 1988 murder he confessed to is believed to have been the first prostitute killing of his serial killing careeer. Yates told investigators he killed 23-year-old Stacy Elizabeth Hawn, who was last seen alive in Seattle on July 7, 1988. Her skeletal remains were found five months later in Skagit County. With these three new cases and the probable unearthing of Melody Murfin's body, Yates' known body count has reached 14 victims. Spokane County prosecutor Steve Tucker said he agonized over the plea agreement, but felt he didn't have enough evidence to prove the aggravating circumstances he needed to convince a jury to impose the death penalty. Under state law, if the prosecution wanted to go for the death penalty they would have had to prove that the victims were killed to cover up a robbery, which was not the case in the Yates slayings. Strangely, Tucker said he agreed to the plea to give peace to the victims' families. However, all but one of the victims' families would have preferred to see Yates on death row. Perhaps the decision was grounded more on the fact that the victims were prostitutes and Yates is a white, middle-class family man.
October 20, 2002 - The DC Snipers
A man was shot and wounded in a steakhouse parking lot night while walking to his car with his wife. Authorities are treating the case as if it were linked to thew Washington-area sniper who has killed nine people. If the shooting turns out to be related, it would be the first time the sniper attacked on a weekend; it also would break the longest lull in between shootings as the break in the spree had stretched into a fifth day. It would be the 12th sniper shooting since they began October 2. The investigation into the Washington-area sniper spree suffered a setback after a witness account was discredited. "I would totally get away from all of the statements that were supposedly emanating from witnesses in the Fairfax County case," Fairfax County Police Lt. Amy Lubas said. The witness had told police he saw the gunman shoulder a weapon just before shooting and then saw the shooter flee in a cream-colored van. The man's description of a Chevrolet Astro van with a roof rack with its left taillight burned out was broadcast to law enforcement across the region. A source close to the sniper investigation told CNN that the witness who had claimed to have seen the shooting of the FBI worker in the parking lot of Home Depot was actually in the store at the time it occurred. Source said investigators questioned the witness extensively, leading toi his confession of making up the story. Authorities said they expect charges to be brought against the man.

Authorities in Pierce County believe the Spokane serial killer may have struck again in Pierce County. It appears that a body found at Parkland could have been dumped there by the Spokane killer.

Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose, head of the task force investigating the Washington-area sniper, attempted to deliver messages to the person who left a message and a phone number at the scene of the latest shooting, a Ponderosa restaurant outside Richmond. His statements: In a news conference Sunday: "To the person who left us a message at the Ponderosa last night. You gave us a telephone number. We do want to talk to you. Call us at the number you provided. Thank you." In a news conference Monday morning: "The message that needs to be delivered is that we are going to respond to a message that we have received. We are preparing our response at this time." In a news conference Monday afternoon: "The person you called could not hear everything you said. The audio was unclear and we want to get it right. Call us back so that we can clearly understand."
October 21, 2002 - Falun Gong
A follower of the Falun Gong in northeastern China has been sentenced to death for strangling a daughter she believed was possessed by a demon. Guan Shuyun was convicted in Heilongjiang province of murder and other charges related to her alleged involvement with the banned spiritual movement. The court granted her a two-year reprieve before the sentence is to be carried out, the Legal Daily reported. The newspaper said 31 other Falun Gong practitioners were also sentenced but didn't give details. During one ceremony, the group reportedly tried to exorcise a demon from the woman's daughter while Mommie Dearest choked the girl to death. The Chineses government considers Falun Gong an evil cult and has detained thousands of its followers. The spiritual movement was banned by China in 1999. Activists of the group abroad claim hundreds of supporters have died while detained by authorities.

Police trying to establish contact with the Washington-area sniper said that a phone call had come in but was too muddled for authorities to understand. They pleaded with the person to call back. "The person you called could not hear everything you said. The audio was unclear and we want to get it right. Call us back so that we can clearly understand," Montgomery County, Md., Police Chief Charles Moose said. During an earlier news conference, Moose focused on establishing a dialogue with the unidentified person who left a message and phone number near a Virginia steakhouse where the latest victim was shot. In related news, bail was denied for Matthew M. Dowdy, who was accused of lying to police by describing a cream-colored van with a burned-out taillight at the scene of last week's shooting in Falls Church. In other developments, France has alerted Interpol about a French army deserter who is known as a marksman and is missing in North America. A Defense Ministry spokesman said there was speculation of a link to the sniper investigation.
October 23, 1976 - David Richard Berkowitz
In the early morning of October 23, 1976, there was another shooting, this time in Queens. Carl Denaro, 19, and Rosemary Keenan, 18, were parked in a secluded residential area in Flushing, Queens. Keenan was driving her own Volkswagen Beetle, and Denaro was in the passenger seat. At about 1:30 a.m., the car's windows seemed to explode, and the duo dropped low in their seats as several bullets struck the car. Startled and likely in shock, Denaro and Keenan did not realize someone was shooting at them, even as Denaro was bleeding from a bullet wound to his head. The panicked Keenan drove to Peck's, a bar about half a mile away. Keenan had only superficial injuries from the broken glass, but Denaro eventually needed a metal plate to replace a portion of his skull. Neither victim had seen the attacker(s). Police determined that the slugs embedded in Keenan's car were .44 caliber bullets, but they were so damaged and deformed that they thought it was unlikely that they could ever be linked to a particular weapon. Denaro had shoulder-length hair, and police would later speculate that the shooter had mistaken him for a girl. Keenan's father was a twenty-year veteran police detective of the NYPD, spurring in-depth investigation, but, as with the Lauria-Valenti shooting, there seemed to be no motive for the shooting, and police made little progress in the case. Though many details of the Denaro-Keenan shooting were very similar to the Lauria-Valenti case, police did not initially suspect a connection, partly because the shootings occurred in different boroughs of New York City. Berkowitz later claimed that, while he observed and helped plan the crime, an unnamed female Satanic cult member actually shot Denaro. The victims survived primarily, claimed Berkowitz, because the shooter was unfamiliar with the powerful recoil of a .44 Bulldog. He also liked to target women in his killings.
October 23, 2000 - Robert Yates
Police agencies around the state of Washington are trying to determine if confessed serial killer Robert L. Yates Jr. is responsible for more deaths than the 15 already attributed to him. "We're not convinced we have all the victims," state Atty. Gen. Christine Gregoire said. Investigators from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia met recently to discuss two large gaps -- from 1975-88 and from 1988-96 -- in Yates' the murderous timeline. Yates has pleaded guilty to 10 murders in Spokane occurring between 1996 and 1998. He also faces charges for two Pierce County killings and an additional Spokane death during the same time period. He also pleaded guilty to the murders of a young man and woman in Walla Walla County in 1975, and a woman in Skagit County in 1988. In Island County near where he grew up, Yates is a suspect in the 1977 slaying of 19-year-old Tracy Hesslegrave on Whidbey Island. "He grew up in this area, knew the area, and was seen frequenting the area during this time period, and has connections to the area," Island County Sheriff Mike Hawley said.Snohomish County detectives suspect Yates could also be connected to the 1987 deaths of a British Columbia couple, Sheriff Rick Bart said. Tanya Van Cuylenborg, 18, was found November 24, 1987, shot to death and dumped in a wooded area near Burlington in Skagit County. The body of her boyfriend, Jay Roland Cook, 20, was discovered two days later by hunters about two miles south of Monroe. Yates has admitted dumping one of his victims' bodies in Skagit County, just months after the Cook-Van Cuylenborg murders. Yates is also being investigated in the death of Patricia Barnes, whose body was found in Kitsap County in 1995. The special task force that caught Yates will continue to investigate the 1990 shooting deaths of Yolanda Sapp, Nickie Lowe and Kathy Brisbois and the shooting death of Sherry Palmer in 1992. Sapp, Lowe and Brisbois were all heroin-addicted prostitutes whose bodies were left along the Spokane River. They had been shot and dumped from a car. Yates, who at the time was stationed in Germany, is believed to have come to Spokane regularly. The bodies of Sapp, Lowe and Brisbois did not bear Yates' signature from the 1997-98 slayings: plastic bags pulled over their heads. But the bodies of Palmer and Barnes were found with plastic grocery bags.

Members of the sniper task force converged on a freeway rest stop in Maryland and arrested John Allen Muhammad, a 42-year-old Gulf War veteran, and John Lee Malvo, his 17-year-old junenile companion. Police said the two were considered suspects in the shootings that have killed 10 and wounded three in the Washington area. The rest area is along a seven-mile stretch of Interstate 70 near Myersville, Maryland, that had been shut down in a dragnet launched just a few hours earlier by Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose, the head of the sniper task force.

An angry letter found tacked to a tree behind a restaurant where the sniper wounded a man last weekend complained of six failed attempts to reach police, and threatened more killings -- of children in particular -- if millions of dollars were not deposited in a bank account within two days, according to law enforcement sources. The letter listed half a dozen calls that had been "ignored" by operators answering phones at the command center in Rockville, the Montgomery County police station and the FBI. It even named some of the people who had taken his calls and hung up. That was "incompetent," the letter stated. "Five people had to die" because of it, the letter said. The letter warned investigators that if they were more concerned with "stopping" the killings than making an arrest, they should follow the orders precisely, or else there would be "body bags." And it ended with an even more ominous postscript, officials said: "Your children are not safe anywhere at any time." The discovery of the letter, which police are convinced was written by the sniper who may have killed his 10th victim yesterday, was the impetus for an extraordinary series of veiled public messages to the killer delivered by Montgomery Police Chief Charles A. Moose. At 7:10 p.m., Moose made the first of his five public appeals to the attacker: "To the person who left us a message at the Ponderosa last night, you gave us a telephone number. We do want to talk to you. Call us at the number you provided." Monday morning, a person police believe to be the sniper called again, according to sources. One official described the caller as "extremely angry." The caller, he said, used such phrases as "Just shut up and listen," or "Hear me out," or "I am God," or "I'm in charge." Police traced the call to telephones in the vicinity of an Exxon station in suburban Richmond. Police dispatched a SWAT team to secretly watch the area. By about 8:30 a.m., an undocumented worker pulled a white minivan up to the phone and started making calls. Another man, also a laborer in this country illegally, was waiting nearby. Police grabbed both men but soon found they were c0ompletely unrelated to the case.
October 24, 2002 - Robert Pickton
The family of another of Vancouver's missing women was notified by E-mail that the Missing Women's Task Force had found their daughter's DNA in Robert Pickton's Port Coquitlam pig farm. The victim, Angela Rebecca Jardine, disappeared four years ago. Pickton, who turns 53 today, has been charged with murdering 15 women on the list of 63 women who have disappeared from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside in recent years.
October 24, 2002 - The DC Snipers
Bringing the sniper killings in the Washington DC area to a conclusion, John Allen Muhammad, 41, and John Lee Malvo, 17, were arrested while sleeping in a car at a Maryland rest stop. The suspects were found asleep in a blue Chevrolet Caprice that had a hidden compartment for a rifle and the trunk had been modified to be a sniper's nest. Muhammad and Malvo had rebuilt the 12-year-old Chevrolet into a rolling sniper's nest by removing the back seats so one man could lie flat with a telescopic rifle and pick off victims. They also had two holes, each the size of the bottom of a Coke can, drilled in the boot - one for the telescopic sight of the .223 rifle and the other for the muzzle. Inside, the gun was mounted on a tripod to keep it stable. Throughout the manhunt, police announced they were looking for a white van or a truck. Only once before was a four-door Caprice mentioned in the sniper case. On October 12, the day investigators released a wanted poster of a white truck, Washington, D.C., police chief Charles H. Ramsey said investigators were also looking for a Chevrolet Caprice seen leaving the scene of the fatal shooting of 72-year-old Pascal Charlot. On 2 October, officers from Montgomery County, twice pulled over the blue four-door car for a " traffic violation" - only to let it go. The next day -- when four people were killed by the sniper in Montgomery County and one in Washington DC -- police in the nation's capital again stopped the car but did not have enough cause to arrest Muhammad or search the vehicle. On October 8 -- a day after a 13-year-old boy in Bowie was wounded as he arrived at school -- police approached the Caprice on a Baltimore street and found Muhammad sleeping in the vehicleand told him to move on. Police said a tree stump was taken from the Tacoma, Washington, home where Muhammad and Malvo once lived. Sources said the stump might contain bullets or bullet fragments to compare to the .223-caliber bullets used in the sniper attacks. Investigators also reportedly combed through Malvo's Bellingham High School student records, seeking samples of his handwriting.
October 25, 1977 - David (Son Of Sam) Berkowitz
Berkowitz claimed that the Hall & Oates song "Rich Girl" motivated the murders. But the song was not released until February of 1977, after the first four shootings had already taken place. In 1979, there was an attempt on Berkowitz's life. He refused to identify the person(s) who had attacked him with a knife but suggested that the act was directed by the cult he once belonged to. He bears a permanent scar down his left shoulder that took 52 stitches to close. In 1987, Berkowitz became a born again Christian while in prison. According to his personal testimony, his moment of conversion came after reading Psalm 34:6 from a Gideon's Pocket Testament Bible given to him by a fellow inmate.[54] In the same testimony, he stated that his obsession with and heavy involvement in the occult played a major role in the Son of Sam murders. In March of 2002, Berkowitz sent a letter to New York governor George Pataki asking that his parole hearing be canceled, stating: "In all honesty, I believe that I deserve to be in prison for the rest of my life. I have, with God’s help, long ago come to terms with my situation and I have accepted my punishment."[55] In June of 2004, he was denied a second parole hearing after he stated that he did not want one. The parole board saw that he had a good record in the prison programs, but decided that the brutality of his crimes called for him to stay imprisoned. In July of 2006, the board once again denied parole on similar grounds, with Berkowitz not in attendance at the hearing. He is very involved in prison ministry and regularly counsels troubled inmates. In June 2005, Berkowitz sued his former attorney Hugo Harmatz, claiming he had taken possession of Berkowitz's letters and other personal belongings in order to publish a book of his own. Berkowitz stated that he would only drop the lawsuit if the attorney signed over all money he makes to the victims' families. On October 25, 2006, Berkowitz and Harmatz settled out of court, with Harmatz agreeing to return the disputed items to Berkowitz's present attorney Mark Jay Heller, and to donate part of his book profits to the New York State Crime Victims Board. Shortly before her death in 2006, Stacy Moskowitz's mother Neysa wrote Berkowitz a letter saying she had forgiven him for his crimes.[56] "She would say things like, 'This kind of anger can make you sick. Don't let anger eat you up,' " said her close friend and neighbor, Sharon Denaro. Neysa lived her final days in a Miami co-op, surrounded by pictures of her daughters, whom she talked about constantly. "She said she did forgive everyone," Denaro said. "She needed to relieve herself of anger to be able to move forward with her life." Berkowitz is currently housed in Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, NY. Berkowitz has an "official" website maintained on his behalf by a church group as he is not allowed access to a computer. Berkowitz is currently writing a memoir, titled "Son of Hope: The Prison Journals of David Berkowitz," which he plans to publish through Morning Star Communications. Berkowitz himself receives no money from publication, and a portion of the proceeds goes to the New York state crime victims board for distribution to the victims of his crimes.
October 25, 2000 - Robert Yates
Spokane County Prosecutor Steve Tucker said DNA testing has failed to match two blood stains found in his truck to any of the victims Robert Yates confessed to killing. Tucker added that Yates has taken a lie detector test, showed he was not lying when he said there were no more victims. But there are still unaccounted for blood stains in one of Yates vans. Yates has also vaguely addressed the subject of the location of the .25 caliber gun used in eight of the killings. Connie LaFontaine Ellis was the last known victim killed with the weapon, leading police to believe the gun could be in Puget Sound. The gun could be used as a bargaining chip by Yates in his Pierce County murder charges.
October 25, 2002 - JOHN EDWARD ROBINSON
More than two years after the gruesome discovery of women's bodies stuffed into barrels on a rural Kansas property, the defense rested in the trial of John E. Robinson. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, alleging that Robinson killed at least six women -- three of them in Kansas -- in a scheme that included sadomasochistic sex with some of the victims and the adoption of the infant daughter of one. He also faces charges in Missouri in the deaths of three of the women. The Kansas trial involves the deaths of Suzette Trouten and Izabela Lewicka, 21, ; and the 1985 disappearance of Lisa Stasi. The bodies of Trouten and Lewicka were found in barrels on Robinson's rural property in Linn County, about 60 miles south of Kansas City. Stasi has never been found.
October 25, 2002 - The DC Snipers
Authorities in Alabama have linked Washington-area sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad and his teenage sidekick, John Lee Malvo, to a fatal shooting outside a liquor store on September 21. Muhammad, 41, and Malvo are accused of killing a female clerk outside the store as it closed and wounding another woman. Dwight Johnson, an officer who heard gunshots that night, chased a man fleeing the liquor store shootings, and helped provide a composite sketch of the suspect. Muhammad is believed to be the man who was chased by Johnson. The DC-area sniper case was cracked after one of the suspects called police and mentioned that they were responsible for the Alabama robbery-murder. Investigators in Montgomery were able to match a fingerprint found on a weapons magazine in a parking lot outside the liquor store to Malvo's immigration records. After connecting Malvo to the Montgomery killing, authorities traced him to a school in Bellingham, Washington, then to a home in Tacoma where he lived with Muhammad. Police then linked the sniper team to Mohammad's blue Caprice which was registered in New Jersey. That night police broadcast a description of the suspects and the vehicle that lead to a trucker calling police and saying he had spotted them in a Maryland rest stop.
October 25, 2002 - Robert Pickton
Internet auction website Ebay pulled a site claiming to be selling dirt from the notorious Pickton pig farm. The seller going by the name Dizan Hamilton listed "Robert Pickton Dirt From His Pig Farm" on ebay.ca under item #727373047 in the Collectables: Rocks, Fossils, Minerals section. He was asking for an opening bid of $9.99. The site offered a brief description of the pig-farm story and claimed the seller is a local resident who has been to the Port Coquitlam farm. No bids were made prior to the site being pulled.
October 25, 2002 - Jose Antonio Rodriguez Vega
Spain's granny killer, Jose Antonio Rodriguez Vega, was stabbed to death by two fellow prisoners in the courtyard of Topas jail in western Salamanca province. Rodriguez Vega, 44, was convicted in 1991 of raping and strangling 16 elderly women in the northern city of Santander over a space of 10 months in 1987 and 1988. Though sentenced to 440 years, by law one can serve a maximum of 30 years in jail. The granny killer was due to be released in 2008.
October 25, 2002 - Robert Flores
A student flunking out of the University of Arizona nursing school shot three of his professors to death, then killed himself in front of dozens of terrified students. Tucson police said Robert Flores Jr., 41, specifically targeted the instructors, killing one in her office on the second floor and shooting the others in a fourth-floor classroom as students dove for cover. Flores walked to the front of the classroom and shot the first victim several times, then went to the back of the room and killed the second victim. University Vice Provost Elizabeth Irvin said Flores -- not the best student -- had failed a pediatric nursing class and was struggling in a critical care class. The victims -- Robin Rogers, 50, Barbara Monroe, 45. and Cheryl McGaffic, 44 -- all were Flores' instructors, Police Chief Richard Miranda said. Flores, a Gulf War veteran, worked at the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration Health Care System as a licensed practical nurse, and was studying to become a registered nurse, officials said.

Police said they intend to seek the death penalty for sniper suspect John Muhammad. Presently, the suspect, 42-year-old John Muhammad, has been charged with possessing a firearm after an incident involving his former wife in Washington state last year. Pending are several counts of murder charges which are expected to be filed by different jurisdictions around the DC area. Muhammad -- who years before had won a badge for expert marksmanship in Fort Lewis, Tacoma -- was brought into court in handcuffs and spoke only when the magistrate asked if he understood the proceedings. "I know where I'm at and I know what I'm doing," he said. Malvo, who claims Muhammad is his stepfather, appeared in a closed juvenile court and was ordered to be held in custody as a material witness. Muhammad, who was stationed at Fort Lewis in the 1980s and served in the Gulf War, had four children by two marriages that ended in divorce. Both involved bitter custody battles and at least one accusation that he abducted the children. Court records showed no felony record for him in Washington state. Muhammad was outgoing and "had a good sense of humor. He wasn't a quiet type. He liked to talk. He liked to mingle with people," Carol Williams, his first wife and the mother of his oldest son. She said Muhammad converted to Islam after divorcing her 17 years ago, about the time he joined the Army. "After he changed his religion, he called and told me what not to feed my child," she said. "I told him as long as he (their son) lived with me, it was up to me." Williams said that on one occasion, when their son was in middle school and visited Muhammad in Tacoma, she had to fight a legal battle for the boy's The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported that Muhammad and Malvo stayed at a homeless shelter in Bellingham, where Mayor Robert Asmundson said the teen had minor run-ins with police but never was charged with a crime. return. His second wife, Mildred Green, with whom he had three children, called Williams a couple of years ago to tell her Muhammad had abducted their children and to ask for help in getting them back. In the late 1990s, Muhammad provided money to start a karate school, former business partner Felix Strozier told The Associated Press. Muhammad promised to bring students from the local Muslim community, but not enough students came, and the school closed in 1998 and Strozier and Muhammad parted on less-than-friendly terms.
October 26, 2000 - Robert Yates
Spokane serial killer Robert L. Yates was sentenced to 408 years in prison after striking a plea bargain and cofessing to 13 killings. "I pray that God will right the wrongs that I have committed and that justice will bring closure," the repentant prostitute killer told a small courtroom packed with sobbing relatives of his victims. Spokane County Superior Judge Richard Schroeder also fined Yates $60,000, and signed him over to the custody of the Pierce County sheriff. Family members of victims, during sentencing testimony, confronted Yates. "Do you have any idea what it's like to go to a cemetery for a family reunion for 25 years?" said Chris Oliver, brother of victim Patrick Oliver, who he killed in Walla Walla in 1975. "He has disgraced and dishonored every uniform he ever wore," said John Joseph, father of Jennifer Joseph, killed in 1997.
October 30, 1971 - Mack Ray Edward
Mack Ray Edwards was born in Arkansas. He moved to Los Angeles County in 1941. As a heavy equipment operator contracted by Caltrans, he worked on freeways. The body of one of his victims was found underneath the Santa Ana Freeway, and he claimed to have disposed another of his victims under the Ventura Freeway. Edwards killed three children from 1953 to 1956, and three more in 1968 and 1969. In 1970, Edwards and a teenage male accomplice kidnapped three girls from their home in Sylmar. When the girls escaped, Edwards surrendered to police and confessed to molesting and murdering six children. After three bodies were recovered, Edwards pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and was sentenced to death. On October 30, 1971, following two unsuccessful attempts, Edwards committed suicide by hanging himself with a television cord in his cell in San Quentin.

BIZARRE RARE HOME MADE INTERVIEW WITH OJ SIMPSON
Produced in 1996, this rare home video marks one of the most bizarre points of athlete, actor and suspected murderer OJ Simpson’s life. Apparently OJ was frustrated that everybody thought he was guilty, so he produced this video in order to clear his name, reputation…and to find the real killer of Ron and Nicole. That being said, here’s the setup--the majority of the video consists of a one-on-one, no holds barred interview between OJ Simpson and a journalist named Ross Becker. He was allowed to ask any question he wanted (excluding questions about his kids, personal finances, or post trial legal matters) directly to OJ and demand a full response. This interview was billed was “the questions and answers you would have heard if OJ had taken the stand”…After that grilling, OJ personally takes you on the tour of his estate…the scene of the murders…inside his home, and around his yard. He tries to work through bits of incriminating evidence during this tour, hoping that he can be vindicated in the public arena….but he only seems to dig himself deeper. Watch in amazement as this weird spectacle unfolds before your eyes….He definitely should not have made this video.
